Walid Madhoun possesses over 15 years of management and technical experience in international development working on projects in the fields of education, capacity building and business development. Mr. Madhoun has managed large multi-year international development projects focusing on educational initiatives. Mr. Madhoun has led international development projects in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, West Bank and Gaza, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Viet Nam, Philippines, Russia, Senegal, Kenya, Botswana, Uganda and Armenia. These projects have focused on the institutional design and implementation, capacity building, academic program development, regional economic development, small and medium enterprise development, research and policy planning, internationalization and partnership building.

Mr. Madhoun designed the AUCC University Progressive Design model and also led the design and implementation phases of the Ahram Canadian University (ACU) in Cairo; he led an International team of academic, governance and finance experts in its establishment. Fully operational after only 5 years, ACU has graduated its first cohort of students who are now entering the Egyptian labor market as professionals with well-developed skill sets geared towards the national human resource requirements while some are pursuing higher level studies. Most recently, using the AUCC University Progressive Design approach, he directed a team of highly qualified educational experts in the Framework Design of the Botswana International University for Science and Technology (BIUST) as the Project Director. BIUST represents the largest higher education project in Botswana’s history to develop the technical and professional human resources capacity of Botswana – this project is central to the national economic development plan of the country. Additionally, as the Project Director and technical expert for the Programme d’Informatique de l’Université Laval en Afrique Francophone (PILAF), he led the design of distance/open learning courses and modules for 8 countries across francophone Africa.
